The TEFL course is very practical, and
the most important component is the teaching practice. With the help
of the trainers, you'll spend about four hours each afternoon
developing your lesson plan and then teach
for about an hour every day.
The lessons are observed by the
trainer, and you're given detailed written feedback which is
discussed after the lesson in order to help you progress.
In the morning, there are input sessions on the skills and methods of teaching.
Language Awareness sessions aim to
consolidate your knowledge of grammar and phonology, and provide
practical ideas as to how these can be taught.
The Teaching Skills sessions develop
your skills in areas such as teaching grammar and vocabulary,
creating your own materials and correcting students' errors.
